The Reserve Bank of Australia has held the cash rate steady at 4.35 per cent, pausing its tightening cycle after three consecutive increases. The decision was unanimous. RBA Governor Michele Bullock confirmed at a subsequent press conference that no board member had considered a rate rise at this meeting, but said the board remained concerned about inflation and would not rule out further increases.
