Candace Carlisle is a senior news writer at CoStar News. The award-winning journalist, who is based in Dallas-Fort Worth, covers the intersection of commercial real estate and culture in Texas and beyond for the Washington, D.C.-based news outlet. Two years ago, Carlisle joined CoStar News after more than a decade of covering the community and real estate in the region for publications, such as the Dallas Business Journal, the Dallas Morning News, the Denton Record-Chronicle and the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.
Carlisle has won multiple awards from the National Association of Real Estate Editors for her coverage of Dallas’ proposed teardown of Interstate 345 near the city’s central business district as well as the rapid growth surrounding the historic Haggard family farm in Plano. She was also a company-wide winner of the America City Business Journal’s Eagle Award for her reporting excellence. Carlisle, who is a Mayborn Scholar, graduated magna cum laude with a master’s degree in journalism from The University of North Texas and, in 2008, was named the school’s graduate student of the year. She also has an undergraduate degree in business from The University of Texas at Dallas.
