Caisse d'Epargne Cepac, via its subsidiary Cepac Foncière, has acquired the future Omnes campus built by Redman in Marseille's ZAC Saint-Charles. The regional bank made the deal official at the beginning of the week, without disclosing the financial details.

Located on the corner of Avenue du Général Leclerc and Avenue Camille Pelletan, opposite Place Marceau, the future Omnes campus will bring together six of the 15 higher education schools in the Omnes Éducation group, and will eventually accommodate up to 2,600 students. It was designed by Marseille-based AT Architectes.

With a surface area of 6,500 m², the campus, due for completion in 2026, is part of the "Construire en terre" program developed jointly by Saint-Gobain and Euroméditerranée; a collaboration whose aim is to promote and industrialize the use of excavated (raw) earth as an eco-responsible building material, as part of a circular economy scheme.

Designed to be adaptable in its uses and reversible from a construction point of view, the campus will be developed according to the bioclimatic principle of the "Negawatt approach" to meet the challenges of the dense city, according to its promoters.

Eventually, 100% of heating and cooling requirements will be met by the Thassalia marine geothermal network, and the building's low-carbon, bio- and geosourced thermal envelope will meet the requirements of the RE2020. The campus is also aiming for BDM Silver, Breeam Very Good and BBCA certification.

Caisse d'Epargne Cepac was assisted in this acquisition by the notary firm Albertas Notaires, while Redman benefited from the services of Excen Marseille.
